CSDEF’s campaign raises $39,000+ to help fight food insecurity

The Colonial School District Education Foundation is excited to be able to continue providing lunches and weekend meals for hungry students after the success of their 2025 annual campaign, Food For Thought.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed,” said CSDEF president Annette Swartz. “Community members were extremely generous with their donations, especially during the period when the SNAP program was suspended.”

Individual donors contributed $29,050 to the campaign. The initiative also benefits from a $10,000 matching grant courtesy of Firstrust Bank, as well as funds raised by John Kennedy Subaru through their Share the Love initiative.

So far this year, the Colonial School District Education Foundation has been able to cover 900+ lunches and more than $14,000 in supermarket gift cards for weekend meals.
