On February 23, 22 Colonial Middle School Orchestra students traveled to Pottsgrove Middle School to prepare for and perform a concert with other schools from Bucks and Montgomery Counties in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 11 String Fest.

Violin player and sixth grader, Clarissa Goddard, performed as concertmaster (first chair violin) in the 5/6 ensemble, and seventh grade cello player, Annabel O'Neill, sat first chair cello in the 7/8 ensemble, while also winning the opportunity to play a solo.

CMS Orchestra Director Elise Derewitz was ecstatic about the students' performance.

“All of the orchestra students that participated did an amazing job," said Mrs. Derewitz. "I am so proud of everyone’s accomplishments and dedication!”
