CES CARES will meet on Tuesday, October 1 at 8am

Do you like to help others?  If so, CES CARES is the club for you!

What is CES CARES?  

• CES CARES is a volunteer organization made up of 4th and 5th grade students who want to make a difference. Together, we meet before school to plan and execute ideas to support groups in our community. Some students make posters to advertise our initiative and others write speeches to share with homerooms to spread the word.  Examples of projects we have worked on include: collecting hats and gloves for school age children, purchasing holiday gifts for children in our community, collecting and donating used books for sale at our local library, making paper flowers to brighten up homes for seniors, supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand within our school and providing assistance to community clean-up projects. 

• Meetings are usually once a month.  They are on a rotating schedule to enable students who have other morning commitments to attend as they are able.  It’s ok if you can’t come to every meeting.   Meetings are at 8:00am in the library.  Notices of meetings will come home in eFriday folders the week before and additional information will be posted in our CES CARES Google Classroom.  

• Our first meeting will be Tuesday, October 1st in the library.  We will be planning for our first project, Colonial Neighborhood Council Food Pantry Collection and also making Full Belly Bags for kids in Montgomery County with food insecurity!
